The Kiss
With the tipping comp coming into its 7th week the ladder is starting to solidify itself. In the Men's a Greensborough like dominance of 1st spot has been held by Gumby from the start (6 rounds). There is also a similar case in the Women's with Cafm leading the pack from the start.
With all the hype surrounding the glitz and glamour at the top have people actually stopped to spare a thought for those battlers who help make up the numbers? Have you taken the time to give some sympathy to the guys who are in the top 10 in the reverse-order tipping ladder?
With prizes up for grabs for coming last in both competitions a quiet yet vicious battle is occurring at the bottom of each ladder.
Currently the Kiss of Death(KoD) has proceeded to jinx a majority of teams it has tipped to win. In the Men's competition the KoD has jinxed 85% of the teams it has tipped to win. It has also plagued 76% of teams in the Women's comp.
Even with these consistent results the Kiss of Death has found a worthy match in the Men's SL1 tipping comp, the tipster goes by the name of Bushy who is currently sitting bottom of the ladder by 1 clear tip. To date he is the worst tipster in Australian Hockey tipping history. Congratulations.... for now

How many?
With the competition coming into its 3rd week it is time to shake that tipster ladder up.
This week a winning margin will be added to a match in both the Men's & Women's SL1 competitions (it will appear next to the tipping option in the round).
Every now and again a game will be made into a margin game just to spice things up a little.
For the margin games the following scoring will occur - 1 point will be awarded for a correct team tip & an extra 1 point will be awarded for an exact correct margin tip.

Fast & Furious
The THS tipping competition has now closed registrations for season 2008 and has locked tipping for round 1.
The last few days have seen a fast and furious amount of last minute registration entries that caused some problems with the system.
Therefore, if you found you could not tip you can send your tips by email to me at seb_m@bigpond.net.au - only those tips sent to me before the games will be entered otherwise you will receive the away team.
This year looks to be bigger and more competitive with 122 tipsters in the Men's Competition and 51 signed up for the Womens competition - to be up to date with all the info of the league don't forget to read the whispers for the round and the gospel

Hey Punters,
With the competition's start fast approaching and nearly 100 tipsters already signed up I thought I would finally unveil the prizes.
Prizes for 2008:

Kiss Of Death
This year a Lou Richards style of the Kiss of Death will be added to the THS SL1 Hockey tipping comp.
For those that do not know Lou Richards became famous as 'The Kiss of Death' for his inability to pick a match winner in his column in the Sun News Pictorial. Therefore, each round the newly added 'Kiss of Death' will correctly tip those teams that will lose.
Will the Kiss of Death place a voodoo on any team it tips?
Will it out-tip you?
Or will it burn and crash to bottom position like it should?

Its Time to Register!
